Records Set At Packerland In SP And Discus 
At Oconto on Monday, May 14, 2012, sophomore Kennedy Blahnik set new Packerland Conference records in the shot put and discus. She had set the records at the 2011 Packerland Meet. In the 12011 meet Blahnik threw 46 04.50 int he shot and 151' 05 in the discus to establish new records.
At the 2012 meet she bettered her old records with throws of 48' 07 and 157 07. In addition her discus throw set a new Algoma school record. The video of her record setting throw below was taken by her father, Dean, who is the throws coach at Algoma. Her school record throw in the SP can be viewed at the Week 8 school records feature.

In 2011 ninth grader Kennedy Blahnik made an impressive debut in her first WIAA State Meet.
The D3 discus record was held by Kami Sweet from Riverdale [148' 09, 2003]. The former D3 SP record was set by Jamae Gjermo from Deerfield [46' 7.25, 2002].
Blahnik broke both D3 records with throws of 150' 07 in the discus and a put of 47' 00.25 in the SP.
