A Look Back: D3 Returnees From The 2017 WIAA State Meet

Mercer has only 44 students. But one of those students became the first girl from Mercer to win a WIAA State track and field championship. Sydney Thompson a member of Mercer's Class of 2017 won both throw events in D3 at the 2017 State Meet.

Other D3 State Champions who have graduated were Nicole Mikula from Shell Lake who won the 100m and 200m dash events and the long jump, Reedsville's Faith Lubner who won both hurdle events, Spencer's Johanna Ellefson who won the PV event, and Mikayla Brouette from Pardeeville the triple jump champion.

Back to defend their championships are Hannah Constable [800m] from Johnson Creek, 400m dash winner Julianne Barkholz from Newman Catholic , 1600m and 3200m winner Elise Large from Ozaukee, and Elizabeth McClure [HJ] from Algoma.

2017 D3 schools Colfax, Grantsburg, Kenosha Christian, Lake Country Lutheran, and Osseo-Fairchild will compete in the D2 tournament series. Cadott, Fall Creek, Frederick/Luck, and Unity which competed as D2 schools in 2017 are now in the D3 tournament series. Link to enrollment data that determines division status.

The athletes listed below were on the WISTCA 2017 All-State Team. Six athletes were chosen for each event. Their rank is listed followed by the athletes name and performance.
