After a warmup on hurdles inside the team took a lap around the campus [there is no track at Benton]. Then back inside a variety of stretching and then line running drills were run before the team broke up into groups. Wednesday the emphasis was on field events.

High Jump Drills
The distance runners worked in the weight room before going outside for circuit type of drills
The Throw Ring is on a cement patio outside the middle school gym. The throws go down a steep hill beind the middle shcool giving the throw athletes a bonus workout when they retrieve their throws.

During warmups inside the vaulters trained using pipes to simulate the poles they will use outside. Benton does not have a track. However a generous boaster club drive raised the funds to purchase a PV pit and then built the runway to the pit. Athletes new to field events met with Coach Raley outside. Fundamentals of body position and foot landing position were stressed.
