Photo from Day 3 practice at Benton

Being a one-person operation it is impossible to cover all events fairly. Sometimes through the capability of a long range lens I can get a photo from afar [pictures above]. In the shot put event Haylee Albert [Cuba City] and Kalayah Kaschub [Riverdale] both had a best throw of 32' 00.00. However Albert had a better 2nd best throw to win the event. Also, one wonders how many of the athletes get the time to practice the varied events they compete in. One athlete Hanna Martensen who was 2nd in the pole vault won the 3200m run in a meet record time of 11:36.12 breaking Brooke Elliott's [Lancaster] 2015 former record of 11:59.63. In the 300m LH event Hanna finished 2nd in 49.84. In order to practice the pole vault and hurdles after school at the regular practice Hanna gets up early and starts her running workouts at 4:30 AM.
