Middleton D1 WIAA Regional

Monday, June 14, 2021 Breitenbach Stadium - Middleton HS. Results.

Wisconsin track and field athletes have begun their journey to the State Meet in La Crosse. Forty-eight regionals were held on Monday, June 14 as athletes competed to fill sectional slots that might lead to their qualifying for the State Meet. DeForest, Madison East, Madison Memorial, Madison West, Monona Grove, Verona Area, Waunakee, and host Middleton competed in the D1 regional at Brietenbach Stadium on the campus of Middleton High School. The top 4 finishers in each event moved on to the Sectional Thursday at Madison Memorial. Host Middleton won the regional with 152 points followed by Waunakee, Madison Memorial, and DeForest. Above L-R: Senior Sarah Bova won the 400m in 57.05 and also ran on the first place Waunakee 4x1 and 4x4 relays in addition to finishing 2nd in the LJ. Middleton junior Lauren Pansegrau won the 1600m and 3200m run events while sophomore Kyla Saleh was the winner in the HJ and LJ events.

1600m Run
Start of the 1600m run L-R: Emma Petta [Verona Area, 6th], Tait Haig [Middleton, 4th], Lydia Bauer [DeForest, 5th], Natalie Rhodes [Madison Memorial, 2nd], Anna Knueve [Verona Area, 3rd], and 1600m winner junior Lauren Pansegrau [Middleton, 5:15.62]. Later in the meet Pansegrau came back in the 3200m race winning that event with a time of 10:53.07.
Lauren Pansegrau in the 1600m run at the Middleton Regional. Pansegrau as of June 14th was #4 in the 1600m [4:55.93] and #1 in the 3200m [10:13.91] Honor Roll listings. in addition in the alternative season XC Meet she was the D1 State Champion.
100m High Hurdles
finals of the 100m HH race shows the top 3 finishers L-R: Madeline Hogan [Monona Grove, 2md, 15.36], winner Ana Ashworth [Madison Memorial, 15.29], and Anna Szepieniec from Deforest [3rd in 15.46]. Szepieniec won the 300m LH event in 47.12.
