Amery Invitational

In the 100m dash ninth grader Luciana Aizpurua won with a time of 12.38. She was followed by Sarah Grubbs [Hayward, 2nd], Avery Hansen [Prairie Farm, 3rd], and Shaylee Stokes [Prairie Farm, 4th].

John Reed has been a long time contributor to Wisconsin Track Online. His passion for the sport and skills with photography has given track fans an outstanding view of track and field in the northwest part of Wisconsin. John's contributions over the years have been significant in promoting and sharing the positives of a great sport.

Amery ninth grader Luciana Aizpurua posted a 1:01.10 to win the 400m dash event. The Hayward trio of Sarah Grubbs [3rd], Camilla Bonicatto [2nd], and Avery Poppe [4th] took the next three places. Go to the Avery feature.

Poppe had a busy night at the Avery Invitational. She was 4th in the 400m dash [1:02.99] and finished first in the HJ [5' 02], TJ [33' 06.75], and 200m dash [27.03]. Above left: Hayward's Ana Johnson and Camilla Bonicatto return for 2022 after being a part of the Silver Medal Hayward 2021 4x4. Alaina Rivard a senior from Amery was a double winner at the Amery Invitational winning the SP [36' 10.50] and discus [114' 9] events. She is shown above at the 2022 indoor Northern Badger Meet held at UW-Stout.

In the 1600m run event [above right] Barron's Fran Peterson [5:05.32] edged Osceola's Rachel Ulrich [Above left, 5:06.49]. Later in the meet Ulrich came back to win the 800m in 2:19.72 with Peterson in a close second at 2:20.58. Both runners are juniors.

Osceola junior Hattie Fox won the 100m HH in 16.29 and the 300m LH in 48.85. The above photos are form the 2021 WIAA State Meet in which Fox placed 7th in the HH and 4th in the LH events.
